Driven by the simple intention to write and perform basic punkrock / garage / powerpop-hooks with straight and down-to-earth german lyrics about real life, without any escapism or "hell-yeah-rock-you-all-night-long" faking (or any emo-sadness posing), these four Berliners started writing dozens of songs within a few weeks in their little basement in the end of 2005. Some people say THE BOTTROPS are the heritage of former german punk-legends TERRORGRUPPE , but this is only half of the truth: } The Bottrops are moving more into a direction of a "1979/80"-sound, leaving Skate-Punk and Melody-Core behind, always searching for a simple form of writing, reduced to a pure and straight form of song and a lyric, with strong references to early german „NDW-Punk“ like KFC, Male or Hans-A-Plast. |
