A rock and roll renaissance man, Joey is at the same time a punk, an indie rocker, a troubadour and a shit-kicking cover artist all in one, and he’s been doing it all since the late eighties.
"Doesn't Play Well With Others" ranges from acoustic pop with modern beats (“Going For The Bronze”), classic folky, early 70ties inspired songwriting (“It’s Always Sunny” feat. backing vocals from Joey’s daughter) , sad personal songs ("I Always Knew...", "Montreal" and especially the touching “Okay” – a tribute to his mentor and Rat Pack guitarist, Matt Ratt, who died in 2009 ), campfire sing-along chorusses (the speedy "No Mirror" and “Fish Rots From the Head Case Down” - a jaunty nautical number about peer pressure and group-think mentality) to beautiful midtempo hymns like "A Song for the Missing".
This album is surprising in its personality and maturity and is essential listening for any fan of punk, indie-folk or alternative country/americana.
CD comes w. beautiful Diggpack.
